What’s New at CRP: ITB Special Edition at AAPEX 2025
Fault code C2217-00 (Electric Power Steering Module Internal) shows up often enough to cause confusion, and it does not always mean the EPS rack is bad. In this Inside the Brands episode, we explain why C2217 can appear as a false positive, common external conditions that trigger it, and the four quick checks you can make before replacing a rack. The goal is to help technicians diagnose accurately, prevent unnecessary replacements, and ensure a verified repair.You will see how low or unstable system voltage, poor grounds, damaged or corroded connectors or wiring, moisture at the EPS connectors, and CAN bus noise or intermittent communication can all lead the EPS module to flag C2217 even when the rack itself is fine. We also outline a practical diagnostic sequence you can perform in minutes to confirm when the rack is truly at fault.When testing confirms an internal failure and replacement is truly required, choose an AAE remanufactured EPS rack for OE-level fit, function, and consistent performance.This episode aligns with the CRP Service Alert covering the RAM applications and AAE part numbers listed below. 2013–2018 RAM 1500 2019–2024 RAM 1500 Classic 2019–2025 RAM 1500AAE EPS rack part numbers: ER5101, ER5102, ER5104, ER5105, ER5106, ER5107Four checks before replacing: 1.
