CRP Automotive announces the release of the Rein Upgraded Aluminum Oil Filter Housing (CRP Part No. HEU0116), designed specifically for BMW B58 3.0L six-cylinder engines.
A Direct Upgrade for a Known Service Failure Point
On BMW B58 applications, the factory plastic oil filter housing has become a recognized service failure point. The original plastic component is susceptible to warping and cracking under thermal cycling and pressure, which can compromise sealing integrity over time.
Rein’s upgraded oil filter housing replaces the original plastic design with full aluminum construction built to withstand heat and pressure. By upgrading the material itself, Rein eliminates a common cause of failure rather than duplicating the original design.
Complete Assembly for Efficient Installation
Rein HEU0116 comes as a complete assembly, so there is no need to source individual components. Each unit includes:
– Pre-installed oil cooler
– OEM oil filter
– Mounting hardware
– High-performance gasket materials
All required components are included in one box, reducing delays and supporting a complete installation.
Developed with Technician Collaboration
The new Rein housing was developed with real-world input from members of the CRP Innovation Council who regularly service B58 vehicles. Their experience with recurring plastic housing failures directly informed the material upgrade and assembly configuration.
Broad Application Coverage
Rein HEU0116 supports a wide range of BMW applications equipped with the B58 engine, including select 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, X3, X4, and M Performance models from 2016 forward.
The B58 platform continues to age into prime service cycles, representing a significant and growing opportunity for repair facilities. For shops servicing these engines, Rein HEU0116 provides a durable aluminum upgrade designed to deliver long-term performance and reduce repeat repairs.
