Even if you’ve worked on a Mini Cooper in the past, you may not know the additional step required with the car’s newer versions of thermostats during a replacement.
While many of the Mini Cooper’s thermostat evolutions have yielded failure-prone parts, the newer versions now involve not just one replacement in the process, but two. Here’s why.
The car’s new thermostats, no matter where they are purchased from, aren’t compatible with the original adaptor leads, so the plugs do not fit during installation. If it is the vehicle’s first thermostat replacement and it hasn’t been fitted with the updated thermostat, this is especially important to remember.
You must also note that this adaptor lead is only available from dealers, so while Rein does offer the latest thermostat design, you’ll need to order the correct adaptor lead from the dealer while ordering the Rein replacement thermostat from your supplier.
