CRP Automotive has released two new, upgraded Rein Coolant Hose Metal Connectors designed to improve durability and performance in select BMW and Audi vehicles. Part number CHU0939 fits 2009–2013 BMW 6-cylinder 3.0L diesel engines, while CHU0648 is designed for 2005–2009 Audi 4-cylinder 2.0L engines.
These upgraded connectors were developed in response to consistent feedback identifying the OE plastic fittings as a common failure point. Over time, repeated thermal cycling and hydrolysis cause the original plastic parts to become brittle and crack. Hydrolysis is the process by which water gradually breaks down plastics, leading to structural degradation and leaks. To address this, the Rein connectors are constructed from aluminum, providing a direct-fit replacement that resists cracking and deformation under prolonged exposure to heat and coolant.
In addition to offering a more durable design, both parts come with the necessary installation components. CHU0939 includes the required gasket, and CHU0648 includes the temperature sensor and o-ring. These aluminum connectors extend service life and help reduce maintenance costs by eliminating a frequent source of failure in these engine platforms.
