A lot of people think that just because a part comes from the dealer that it’s the best product you can buy.
However, CRP has developed a number of new and remanufactured products that we like to call “better than OE”. Meaning that the parts incorporate upgrades or modifications which make them more durable or more reliable than the original components.
In this episode of CRP Automotive’s Inside the Brands, David Hirschhorn discusses a pair of better-than-OE AAE remanufactured steering racks:
Part #3812N (Mercedes)
Part #3851N (Nissan)
One is a steering rack for the Mercedes ML SUV. The other is a rack for the Nissan Maxima and Altima sedans — specifically models with the 3.5-liter engine.
In the case of the Mercedes, the pinion gears in the factory rack wear down and can cause unwanted play in the vehicle’s steering. For the Nissan rack, rust causes the steering to feel gritty.
Our solution in both cases is to use heat-treated pinion gears in these AAE-brand remanufactured racks. These gears offer enhanced durability over the OE gears. And they are just another example of how CRP is constantly looking to improve the products it offers.
