You’re watching part one of a three-part special ITB episode on water pump failures.
Tougher emission laws are forcing engineers to have late model engines run at ever increasing temperatures. Efforts to reduce weight and cost have also forced OE manufacturers to replace metal cooling components with thermoplastic parts.
With these changes, the professional repair technician is seeing much earlier component failure than in previous designs. These failures can lead to catastrophic engine damage if not proactively detected and repaired. There’s now a huge opportunity for shops in the independent aftermarket to assist the owners of late model vehicles to protect their investment.
Find out what we’re doing to help address these issues in our special three-part water pump series of Inside the Brands.
