CRP Automotive has introduced a new Rein Coolant Metal Pipe (CRP Part No. CHU0589) for popular MINI 4-cylinder 1.6L engines. This upgraded component is designed to address a known weakness in the original cooling system, where the OE plastic pipe, commonly referred to as the “crossover pipe,” is prone to cracking and leaks as the engine ages.
Exposure to repeated thermal cycling and the effects of hydrolysis degrade the OE plastic material over time, often resulting in premature failure. To eliminate this failure point, the Rein Coolant Metal Pipe is constructed from aluminum, providing increased resistance to heat, chemical exposure, and long-term wear compared to the factory-installed part.
Engineered for a direct OE fit, the Rein Coolant Metal Pipe allows for straightforward installation without the need for modification. Each pipe includes the necessary O-ring and clip to ensure a complete and efficient repair. By upgrading to aluminum construction, this part significantly extends the service life of the cooling system and helps reduce maintenance frequency for MINI owners and technicians.
