CRP Automotive now offers two versions of the upgraded Rein Coolant Hose Metal Connector (CRP Part Nos. CHU0940 & CHK0940), specifically designed for BMW B58 6 Cyl. 3.0L engine applications. The CHU0940 version includes the upgraded aluminum connector and necessary gasket, while the CHK0940 version also features a temperature sensor for easy installation.
Feedback from the CRP Automotive Innovation Council highlighted the OE plastic connector as a common failure point in these engines, often due to brittleness and cracking caused by repeated thermal cycling and hydrolysis. Hydrolysis, a process where water breaks down plastic or rubber, can lead to structural degradation and eventual failure. The upgraded Rein connectors are made from durable aluminum to address these issues, eliminating the common failure points associated with plastic connectors.
