Working on a Chrysler 300, Dodge Durango, or Jeep Grand Cherokee? If you’re servicing the electro-hydraulic steering system, this tip is crucial for ensuring the longevity and performance of the pump…and avoiding expensive repairs.
These vehicles feature electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS) systems, which use an electric pump instead of a traditional belt-driven one. However, just like with traditional hydraulic systems, it’s essential to use the correct fluid.
The correct hydraulic fluid spec for these Chrysler vehicles is MS11655. Both Pentosin CHF 11S and EHF hydraulic fluids meet this spec, ensuring optimal performance and a long lifespan for the steering system.
We also highlight an important point: Chrysler’s EHPS pumps are not serviceable and must be replaced as an entire unit, including the bracket. CRP offers five of these pumps under the AAE brand, and we’ll walk you through the part numbers you need.
